Students throughout campus will be competing for the coveted title of Whitewater's most talented person. The Whitewater's Got Talent final competition is tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Room located in the James R. Connor University Center.

The 11 finalist are preparing to present a variety of hidden talents free of charge to all students with a valid I.D.

"This is our annual event," RHA Co-Programmer Jeremy Sippel said. "It was called Whitewater Idol before but we changed the name because students have more talent than just singing."

The finalists are freshmen Mike Montano, Danielle Woolley, Emili Campanile and Mackenzie Nilsen, sophomores Andrew Whaley, Joanne Gestwicki, Jon Tajnai and Will Krieger, juniors Vito Cristino Jr., Victor Morin and Kenji Rodriguez and senior Dan Feidt. These students will be singing, dancing, playing music and even doing magic.

RHA is an organization representing the students living in the residence halls. Students from each complex vote on issues that affect the students living in the residence halls from the emergency blue lights to food concerns in the dining halls. The goal of RHA is to support interaction between the residence halls.

For years, RHA has provided students living in the residence halls with fun and educational events to meet new people and get students involved on campus.

"We want students to come out and support the residents who are going to be performing in the contest Thursday night," Co-Programmer Ali Baumgartner said. "It is going to be fun. This is a good alternative to a Thursday night and a way to interact with the audience."

Just like American Idol, this is the first year RHA is using text voting to determine the audience winner. The first 200 students who come to the event will be the first ones to participate in the voting process. RHA hopes students will take part in a chance to make history on campus. Whitewater's Got Talent is the first of many RHA?events this year.

Be on the look out for RHA's end of semester events. On Nov. 21 there is an on-campus movie and pool party. A Relaxation 101 class offered in December will ease the tension from finals.

Baumgartner said creating events for students is rewarding.

"Putting on this program has taught me to learn how to collaborate with others which is great practice for the real world," Baumgartner said. "When organizing an event you learn your limits and decision making."

Make your vote count and support RHA and Whitewater's most talented students at the Whitewter's Got Talent competition tomorrow night.
