The Student Entertainment Awareness League has booked the up-and-coming Atlanta, Georgia comedian Ronnie Jordan at the DownUnder in the University Center. His performance will take place tomorrow at 8 p.m.

Jordan was born and raised in Atlanta and has performed at many of Atlanta's comedy clubs. He was voted "Most Wittiest" in high school, and has used his wit to make a name for himself. Jordan has been an opening act for established comedians such as Ricky Smiley, Bruce Bruce, Earthquake, Mike Epps, Arnez J. and several others.

"I think that he is something different," SEAL Entertainment Coordinator Amanda Dieringer said. "I don't know if people have already seen a couple of our past comedians, but hopefully they'll come out and see Ronnie as well … when he's on a college campus he will spice it up a little bit."

His accomplishments include performing at the Queens of Comedy 12 city tour, being voted crowd favorite on the Miller Light King and Queens of Comedy Search Tour, opened for the Crown Royal Comedy Soul Search Fest Tour, and he headlined the RJE Comedy Cabaret Tour 2003. He was crowned "Rookie of the Year" in 2001 at the Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta. Additionally, Jordan has appeared multiple times on BET's "Comic View." He is a regular at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta and currently tours the country performing for universities.

When Jordan's not on stage, he's doing his part to give back to his community. He participates in the Atlanta Youth Convention where he serves as a mentor to at-risk kids.

SEAL booked Jordan after seeing him at the NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) conference last year.

"Every year we go to [NACA] for our region and [Jordan] happened to be headlining as an act there and we really liked him," Dieringer said. "He was one of our top choices for a comedian for the semester so if we hadn't seen him at NACA and at that showcase, we might not have booked him so we did get lucky."

Jordan, like most comedians, has a signature act that he likes to perform.

Dieringer said he's got a signature Ruben Studdard joke, a certain crowd-pleaser.

Look for Jordan to pull out all the stops tomorrow night, something he's known for when performing on college campuses.
