As the semester draws to a close, students have a few things to look forward to. No more school, a lot less stress, maybe a nice vacation somewhere, a crappy summer job and the big budget blockbusters Hollywood releases. Summer always has the best to offer in movies and entertainment, and this year certainly doesn't seem to be any different. With explosions, loves stories, robots, cyborgs and magic, no one will walk away disappointed this year.

Terminator: Salvation, May 21

With Arnold Schwarzenegger busy running California into the ground, a 4th "Terminator" seemed a bit unlikely. But, change the time setting, the story and put in a whole new kind of Terminator, and you have yourself a hugely anticipated summer movie smash.

"Terminator: Salvation" is the continuing story of John Connor (Christian Bale), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, the powerfully computer system. When a new kind of Terminator appears, Connor must find out what was changed in time and what the consequences will be.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, June 24,

With huge summer movies come huge robots, explosions and Shia Labeouf. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" picks up where the first movie left off. When Sam (Labeouf) goes off to college, he comes into contact with a piece of the Allspark from the first film. The information that now exists in his mind is the key to winning the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, and both sides will do anything to either obtain or protect that information.

Overall, the first "Transformers" was a great movie and a great adaptation. With Michael Bay once again directing, you can expect multiple explosions, awesome CGI and Megan Fox looking ridiculously hot.

Public Enemies, July 1

"Public Enemies" is the story of John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), one of the biggest and most famous bank robbers in American history. Robbing banks across the nation during the Great Depression, Dillinger became a national folk hero and was pursued relentlessly by FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), but Dillinger always stayed one step ahead.

Hollywood just loves to take big name, huge money making actors and stick them together in movies. Why? Because it works, it makes money and it makes some darn good films. Expect this movie to be big.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, July 15

The fans will sum this movie up in three words: "It's about time." This 6th installment in the series was supposed to be released last fall, but was pushed back for "financial reasons," or "making a crapload of money," as it should have been said. Fear not fans, for your reward has arrived.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is about Potter's 6th year at Hogwarts. With a new teacher, a new love interest and a sinister but helpful book, Harry has to find the true story of Voldemort's past if he wants to win their final battle.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, August 7

Making a movie based off of a cartoon that's based off of action figures sounds like a daunting task. But, what if you completely redo the series, change some ideas and add a modern take? Well, you get "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," a film that could make or break a big series.

"G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" is the story of a special military group whose main goal is to stop Cobra, an arms dealer and leader of his own small military force. Using technology and advance fighting skills, this team has to stop Cobra before he begins destroying the world.
