LeBron James has a Nike poster stating "We Are All Witnesses." On Saturday in the Williams Center, UW-Whitewater will witness history.

The women's wheelchair basketball team plays its first home game in program history against the Chicago Sky at 11 a.m.

Freshman player Bethany DeVault said the first home will bring unity to the team and university.

"Our team will be united come Saturday," DeVault said. "I hope our team plays united, as a family and a team. I hope we work together and play a great unselfish game no matter the result of the game."

Former men's wheelchair basketball coach Tracy Chynoweth said the first women's wheelchair game will be a memorable moment for Warhawk Wheelchair Athletics.

The women's wheelchair team is not only receiving support from people within wheelchair athletics, but also faculty members. Political science lecturer Paula Mohan said the women's wheelchair team will inspire female athletes in all sports.

"It's an extremely cool thing to be present for this and to witness it, and it's overdue," Mohan said. "The men's wheelchair basketball team showed all of us a long time ago how tough, exciting and fast-paced this game can be. As a former female athlete, I always love watching other female athletes show how tough and competitive they can be. The women are tough and a force to be reckoned with, and everyone who watches it will see it."
