This weekend a UW-Milwaukee student was robbed at gunpoint near Toppers World Headquarters.
Police Chief James Coan said the incident is still under investigation.
"We want to make sure we're covering all angles," Coan said. "There are aspects of this case we still need to pursue."
Coan said the suspects are two white males wearing ski masks, dark clothes and had a silver-plated pistol.
Coan said the robbery happened at 2:45 am Saturday and there was a 20 to 30 minute delay between the robbery and the emergency call.
Coan said the victim was highly intoxicated at the time of the robbery.
According to the City of Whitewater Police Department, 51 arrests were made and 182 calls were made to the police station during Homecoming weekend.
"The number of arrests doesn't really reflect on how busy we actually were," Coan said.
For this upcoming Halloween weekend campus police and city police will be preparing for another busy weekend.
University Police Chief Matt Kiederlen said campus security will have a bigger presence than normal.
"There will be an increased level of staffing and probably increase the number of foot patrols that we have," Kiederlen said. "We'll be looking very much for inappropriate behavior."
Kiederlen said there has been a difference in population on the weekends than in previous years.
"We've seen quite a shift in what our population normally does," Kiederlen said. "Normally we see most of our students go home on the weekend and we've had a number of weekends where most of our population has stayed."
Kiederlen said he the high price of gas keeps students from traveling.
In regards to this weekend, Kiederlen said he's not sure what to expect but he is looking into the possibility of having many people on campus.
"We're not 100 percent sure what to expect," he said. "Traditionally most of our students have left for that weekend and gone to other venues."
Kiederlen said the police will be giving out escorts to people who may need a ride home or who are lost, but there are other ways to prevent things from happening.
"Make sure one or two people within your group are going to remain in a sober state so they can make sure the rest of the group doesn't get in trouble," Kiederlen said.
Junior Mike Huxsol said he keeps his cash in his front pocket and doesn't bring his wallet.
"If I have anything valuable usually I leave it [at home]," Huxsol said.
