A UW-Whitewater freshman died as the result of a three-car accident Friday after he apparently lost control of his car on a road near Sullivan.

Brandon Boaz, 20, of Dousman was hit by two cars when his 1994 Ford Thunderbird crossed the centerline on Jefferson County Highway CI, according to the Jefferson County Sherriff's Department.

Friends of Boaz say he will be missed by many.

Kayla Fox, 19, said she knew Boaz better than anyone because she was his other half.

"We started dating four years ago in high school and have been inseparable ever since. We were soul mates," she said. "He deeply impacted every life that he touched because he was such a unique and amazing individual."

Boaz attended Palmyra-Eagle High School in Palmyra, Wis., and graduated in 2006.

"Brandon always tried to make people laugh and was great at making people feel better," said Cristol Zahn, a high school friend of Boaz. "We had a lot of fun times together with our group of friends and I will miss him dearly."

Sophomore Chelsea Kau said being Boaz's friend was easy.

"Brandon was a laid back person that was always up for hanging out and spending time with his friends," Kau said. "When you were with Brandon, it was always a great time … there was never pressure to be anyone but yourself."

Fox said Boaz joined the Marines when he was 17, but after being discharged for medical reasons decided to attend college and earn a degree in computer science.

Video games, cooking, fishing, paintballing and music were some of Boaz's hobbies, she said.

Police said Boaz was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, in which one other driver also died.

Lois Ehleiter, 68, the driver of the vehicle that first hit Boaz also was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wayne Ehleiter, 69, was following Lois and tried to avoid the accident but was unable to stop in time. He was transported to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, although his condition is still unknown.

At this time, it appears all passengers were wearing seatbelts, according to the sherriff's department.

The accident remains under investigation.

The visitation for Boaz is scheduled for 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday at Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson. Memorial services will immediately follow.
