St. Louis Rams officials were impressed by UW-Whitewater's facilities after a nearly four-hour tour of campus last week, said Jeff Horton, special assistant and offensive assistant for the Rams. However, the team still hasn't decided on what university to choose for its summer workouts.

"It's a beautiful facility," Horton said. "It's got a lot of things that we're looking for."

The Rams' officials discussed the possibility of using the campus as a training site for the summer with Warhawk current and former head coaches Lance Leipold and Bob Berezowitz. UW-Whitewater athletics director Paul Plinske said the department received a positive response from the team.

"They said we gave a positive presentation of our university and what we have to offer," Plinske said. "I know that they met with the head coach [Scott Linehan] last Thursday and should be contacting each university within the next week or so."

Plinske said the Rams originally announced to practice July 23 until Aug. 9, but they decided to extend their stay to Aug. 14 after visiting the Warhawk facilities.

"Hopefully, we receive the right response." Plinske said. "They're supposed to call and give us feedback on our resident halls, dining options and athletic facilities."

UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh have been the most interesting landing spots for the Rams, but they also visited Concordia University, UW-Stevens Point and Holy Name Seminary, the site where UW-Madison had preseason football practice until recently.
