Warhawk plays in first NFL game against Packers

Derek Stanley, wide receiver for the Warhawks from 2003-2006 and current kick returner for the St. Louis Rams, played in his first National Football League game Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Stanley had six returns for 120 yards. He also had a fumble that was recovered by a teammate.
The Verona product was selected as the 39th pick in the seventh round by the Rams in the 2007 NFL Draft. As a Warhawk, he led the team to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III national championship game in consecutive years, while setting UW-Whitewater records for career receiving yards (2,621), touchdowns (35), single-season receiving touchdowns (17) and single-season receiving yards (1,328).
Stanley also finished his collegiate career as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's all-time leader in receiving touchdowns.
The Rams lost to the Packers, 33-14.
