Spring Break
Students throughout campus will be competing for the coveted title of Whitewater's most talented person. The Whitewater's Got Talent final competition is tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Room located in the James R. Connor University Center. The 11 finalist are preparing to present a variety of hidden talents free of charge to all students with a valid I.
The Percussion Ensemble, featuring 17 musicians playing over 40 instruments, will perform in the Light Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow night. The ensemble will play many different genres of music, including jazz, Western art music, contemporary and standard percussion ensemble and transcription.
The UW-Whitewater music department will be holding a Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds concert Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Young Auditorium. Members of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds will be performing a variety of pieces as a group and individually.
The Student Entertainment Awareness League has booked the up-and-coming Atlanta, Georgia comedian Ronnie Jordan at the DownUnder in the University Center. His performance will take place tomorrow at 8 p.m. Jordan was born and raised in Atlanta and has performed at many of Atlanta's comedy clubs.
I think everyone loves a good horror movie. People go to scary movies to, quite simply, be scared. Every year or two, a movie comes along that provides great scares and jumps while actually being more than just gore and flying body parts. "Paranormal Activity" brings its low budget, campy suspense to the table with surprising force and turns the idea of a simple haunted house on its ear.
