Spring Break
When considering the greatly differing advising policies between individual departments, the importance of advising can come into question.
I decided to run to be Whitewater Student Government president in October of 2008. At the time I was a member of WSG, serving as the public relations director. It's also important to note that this is only my second year involved with WSG. I knew the position required a great amount of energy, work, enthusiasm and responsibility, all of which I was ready and willing to commit.
Like my colleagues (past and present), I had previously been reluctant to speak out due to my concerns of personal alienation and political retribution. My concerns are not unwarranted either; I had such an experience during a progressive campaign for student empowerment last semester.
Originality in music, and the world, is dying, but it's not buried yet. After the final chronicled moments of Michael Jackson's life were seen by the world in the film "This Is It," it's become unsettlingly apparent what American culture has actually lost and perhaps will never regain.
It's that time of year. Snow is approaching. Here's some tips to avoid being one of the ditch-bound drivers with no concept of how to handle a vehicle when traction is at a premium.
